The Gynecologic Cancer Center of Excellence (GYN-COE) is a state-of-the art research consortium established in 2010 with funding from Congressional-Sponsored Research Programs and the Department of Defense in partnership with Inova Health System. The goals of the GYN-COE are to identify molecular alterations associated with health conditions that affect women including cancer with a special emphasis on advancing early detection, prevention, treatment and survivorship.

The GYN-COE supports the mission of the Registry in a number of ways. Patient data collected by the Registry is securely stored and protected in the state-of-the art Data Management Center at the GYN-COE. The GYN-COE also houses a state-of-the art College of American Pathology (CAP) accredited Biorepository that the Registry will be able to utilize in the future to collect and store specimens from qualifying members of the Registry for high priority research challenges.

The Uterine Cancer Registry receives funding and support from Inova Health System. In addition, some of the funding for this project was from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences from the Defense Health Program (HU0001-16-2-0006) to the Gynecologic Cancer Center of Excellence, PI: Chad A.
